The Measure is a City Charter Amendment

• It can only be changed by a vote of the people. Details are taken out of the hands of our elected City Council.

• Budgeting by City Charter amendment is bad policy. It cannot account for future needs or conditions.

• It creates a new 15-member commission over half of which are youth.

  • Youth deserve a voice, but they are generally not experienced enough to have control.

  • Youth also have higher turnover than more settled city residents.

• It creates an unnecessary new bureaucracy with a new highly paid director.
